You’re going to want to get your computer setup and ready for a new computer.
It can help if you’re an IT professional, a new parent or a computer junkie, says Jennifer Eby, IT specialist and co-founder of Eby.
Eby says most people can do it themselves, but she recommends the following: 1.
Make a task list, or list of tasks, that you can do before you get started.
2.
Make sure you keep track of everything you’ve purchased.
3.
Make backups of everything that you’ve installed, or you can make them available online or in a cloud service.
4.
Have an email address that you check often for new purchases.
5.
Use a service that allows you to set up automatic updates and upgrades for computers.
6.
Have a backup plan in place.
7.
Consider a software purchase or software installation that will get you back to your old setup and the things you’re used to. 8.
Make the most of your time.
9.
Ask your computer service provider to help you with your software purchase.
10.
